Y-ASES Before/After School Program at
We know that it takes the effort of the entire community to provide the wide range of educational resources and opportunities that students need to succeed. Therefore, WCUSD is proud to continue our partnership with the YMCA to provide free before-school, after-school and summer enrichment through our Y-ASES programs which give TK-6th grade students new and expanded learning opportunities outside the regular school day to learn, explore and discover new interests.
About the Y-ASES Program
The YMCA provides a high-quality program designed to support and enhance your child's learning in school while also providing new and expanded learning opportunities that not only contribute to their academic success but also to their overall health and well-being. All Y-ASES staff work closely with your child's teacher to help ensure homework is getting completed and that the child is progressing at school. In addition, the program includes a health and fitness component focusing on cooperative group games and cardiovascular health as well as nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
The program begins on the first day of school and operates every regular school day as follows:
Step 1: Complete the District Enrollment Form. Complete one form per child.
Step 2: Once the district verifies that your student is enrolled in the district, Y-ASES will use the email you provided to send you registration materials and let you know an estimated start date for your child. Complete those registration forms as soon as you can.
Our goal is to serve all families, however, space is limited based on staffing and facilities. Enrollment will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and by the following funding requirements: 1) returning participants and siblings, 2) foster youth, students experiencing homelessness, students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program and students identified as English language learners.
